There’s a quiet kind of wisdom that emerges when we choose simplicity over spiraling thoughts. In moments of stress or uncertainty, the most transformative question we can ask is: What if the answer is simpler than I’m making it?

A friend once told me a story about her father, a seasoned contractor. Whenever she began to unravel over a problem, convinced it was huge and unfixable, he would calmly say:
“Start with the simplest solution, then work your way up from there.”

That perspective has stayed with me for years. Because more often than not, when we begin with a grounded, clear action—rather than jumping to the most complicated fix—we create space. Space to breathe, to see, and to access clarity.

And sometimes? That simple solution is all that’s needed.
